A disturbing scene unfolded in Deltona, Florida, when 22-year-old Trevor Nieves-Gonzalez allegedly stabbed his father in the back of the head and threatened to kill four children after becoming enraged when his necklace broke while working in the yard. Deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Fowler Drive and found the suspect armed with a large hunting knife.

Bodycam video shows the father begging deputies not to shoot his son, stepping between him and the armed officers as tensions escalated. After refusing multiple commands, Nieves-Gonzalez threw the knife, spit on an officer, and yelled “Kill me!” before being tased and taken into custody.

He now faces charges including aggravated battery, aggravated assault, four counts of child abuse, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest with violence. Deputies say alcohol may have been a factor in the violent outburst.
