  • August 1, ~1:30 a.m. – Giovanni sends his mother a text saying “Help me” while riding with cousins in a white Malibu headed toward Brevard County.
  • Minutes later – He reportedly begins acting erratically, exits the vehicle, and walks near State Road 70 in Manatee County.
  • Shortly after – His backpack and phone are found abandoned along I-75 near the SR 70 interchange.
  • Following week – Searches are conducted by family, private investigators, and volunteers. Authorities request dashcam footage from the public.
  • August 8 – A male body is discovered in a retention pond adjacent to the southbound I-75 off-ramp at SR 70. Heavy rain delays recovery efforts. Identity has not been confirmed.

Investigation Status
